Summer has always been one of our favorite times here in the Lowcountry. The days are sunny, the beaches are welcoming, and the area just shows its incredible beauty in a million ways. But this summer is different. As we experience the second wave of COVID-19, many things become uncertain. It seems like summer just isn’t what it was. Well, we beg to differ. You can still enjoy your summer here in the Lowcountry and we wanted to share some ways we’re doing just that.
Enjoy the Incredible Outdoors
This part of the country is one of the most beautiful you will ever experience. Often we get too caught up in our day to day and forget to enjoy the natural beauty around us. Even with a pandemic going on, the outdoors is an incredible option for family time. Take in some time at the beach or explore one of the many outdoor historical locations like Colonial Dorchester or the Angel Oak.
Take a Drive
Sometimes the simplest things are the best. Getting the family and going for a drive is one of our favorite things to do, and is just one more way to experience the incredible beauty of the Lowcountry. Make it an adventure and drive somewhere you haven’t been before, just to check it out and get some time out of the house.
Try Something from the Good Old Days
You might remember the drive-ins of yesterday, or at least you heard a family member talk about them. Well, now you can experience that same sensation of watching a movie in the comfort of your vehicle. Protect Yourself and Others
Whatever you decide to do, remember we’re all in this together. Maintain a safe social distance away from other people, wash your hands regularly, and wear a mask when in public areas. For many parts of South Carolina masks are now a legal requirement, so make sure to check the rules for where you’re going before heading out.
