This is true even when driving in a town, or similarly small geographical area. If people know when to expect you, and where you’re going, they will be better able to get help should you fall out of contact in potentially extreme weather conditions. If you’re out and plans change, as they do, simply call and update everyone so they know. An ounce of prevention is a powerful thing.
When in Doubt, Don’t Go Out
If you’re not sure of your ability to drive in the conditions you’re facing, don’t. It’s just that simple. Stay in where you are warm and safe.
